17 year old Lorde who comes from New Zealand, took to the stage when called up her award saying 'I'm still so new to getting awards that my brain feels like it's exploding every time it happens, so forgive me.'
The Royals singer beat competition from Janelle Monae, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Pink to take the top spot and gave a quick shout out to them: 'Thank you to the strong, intelligent, inspiring women in this category.'
