Yisa Sofoluwe who was a former Nigerian defender,  advised the Super Eagles to be cautious in their approach to the second group match in the Confederations Cup against Uruguay Thursday stressing on the importance of the match.

He said that the Nigerian team recorded a handsome victory in their opening match with Tahiti saying “The 6-1 victory over Tahiti was a good thing for the team. It is a morale booster and the most important thing is that they should build from that,” the former international said.
He reckoned that the Eagles resounding victory over Tahiti was a signal to their group opponents,  Uruguay and Spain. “They will respect the Eagles even as they will want to impose themselves on the Nigerians. But my advise is that the Eagles have to be cautious.”
They must be quick to counter the Uruguayans who would want to come all out for early goals.”
Sofoluwe would not blame any particular player for the solitary goal Tahiti recorded against Nigeria in their opening match as he said, “in situations like that you don’t blame any particular player. It was a mistake without mistakes, there will be no goals in a match,” but insisted, “against Uruguay, they must be tight as they cannot afford to mess up.”
