The lives of a three-year-old girl and her elder sister, name given as Abla, were lost in a fire gutted their number 8, Odofin Close, Ikotun, apartment, leaving their father with severe burns.
According to the information gathered, the fire started, last Friday, when their father, Pele Prazo, a Togolese, was turning petrol into their power generating set and Abla, who held a lighted candlestick, walked towards him. The apartment was razed.
Prazo’s three-year-old daughter, who was inside their apartment when the fire started, was burnt to death, while Abla died at Igando GeneralHospital, where her father is receiving treatment.
Deputy Police Public Relations Officer in Lagos, Dasmsus Ozuani, who confirmed the incident said policemen attached to Ikotun police division and men of the state fire service were at the scene, following distress calls.
Ozuani added that the police and fire servicemen took the victims to the hospital.”
