President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz of Mauritania has been elected the new Chairperson of the African Union ( AU).
The first vice president of the AU went to Zimbabwe, second vice president was Democratic Republic of Congo, while Nigeria emerged third vice president of AU.
The election was held during the ongoing 22nd Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the Africa in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
