- Troubled Last Moments Of Seymour Hoffman's Life
Sunday, 2 February 2014
The 46-year Oscar award winning actor Seymour Hoffman, who died of an overdose of heroin, began renting a $10,000-a-month apartment in Bethune Street in Manhattan's Greenwich Village in October after moving out of the nearby family home he previously shared with longtime partner Mimi O'Donnell.
It was in this apartment that his body was found yesterday by close friend and playwright David Bar Katz, who went to check on him on Miss O'Donnell request after the actor failed to pick up his children.
Mr Hoffman and Miss Mimi O'Donnell, had been together for 14 years and had three children, the first Cooper who is 10, Tallulah who is 7 and Willa who is 5, pictured centre. The actor appeared 'slightly disheveled and pasty' at January's Sundance Film Festival - his last public appearance - and refused to give interviews. However, he did pose for a sombre portrait, shown left.
